Down memory lane!

After long time, happened to check my geocities account (thankfully much of content remains), and found lot of hidden gems! Like my first resume!

And another one of historical importance, when I joined FreeOS.com to start working on IndLinux fulltime… my first todo list I presented on work to be done! Definetly a gross under-estimation of the volume of task!!

Its been 8yrs now and was really long journey….And #1 is not done yet! Rest is more or less achieved (status – not uptodate)

1) Prepare a draft of Indian-Language-HOWTO 1W
& finalize it (ver 1.0) 3W
2) Start translation teams for different Languages 1M
3) Study of Pango project 2W
4) Enable Pango for Indian Languages 3M
5) Evolve a standard for IL in Linux
i.e. codepages, charsets, file formats etc. 1M
6) Start the UI project
UI proj. will design/aquire fonts, icons ,graphics
sounds, desktop themes etc. 1M
7) Study of enabling of Mozilla for IL. 1M
8) Create prototype of Netscape in IL. (Hindi first) 3M
9) Release a package/rpm & scripts which will enable
any linux box for IL. 3M
10) Next PCQ Linux dist. will contain all the above ??? 3M+
11) Future !!! 6M+

छप्पनवी उडान भरनें के बाद कह सकता हूँ – अब तक छप्पन ;-)

I reached BLR few hrs ago.. for the annual FOSS pilgrimage… FOSS.IN/2007 personally though except for some KDE Hindi checkins I havent done much in last few months, since i shifted to a regular job (with symantec)…

IndLinux PD is on 5th. Getting few IndLinux T-shirts done (hope they reach in time!)… & some stickers..

Tomorrow morning will start off for FOSS.IN trip  via Hyderabad. First going home to hyd.. & maybe couple of meetings with Telugu L10n teams.. & properly installing Linux @ home pc.. this time FC6.. (dont hav debian DVDs & neither a local repository!).. and leave for bangalore  21st evening by train…

Will arrive in Bangalore 22nd morning.. will be around airport road/ kormangla most of the time.. have to get banners  & posters printed..!  Ya.. this is being the most ill prepared trip!… & 23rd probably setting up at the venue.. thankfully i will be done with my workshop on day 1 itself ( Indic Computing workshop – Hall C @ 4pm – its one place where have given most of my LB talks! ;-)

Hope to meet lot of old & new folk… & being an old venue.. should be able to optimize time well… hope this will be another serious & fun event as always..

Will return back to Delhi on 27th afternoon.. & I will be returning back with lot of new learnings, memories & some memorables (will disclose this later!)..
